An Opening Statement (Part 2):
Attended Montgomery College until I joined BCC Rescue Squad in early 1970. Really got into the fire and rescue services. Went thru paramedic training but got accepted to Physician Assistant training before completing.
Graduated as a PA in 1975 from Alderson-Broaddus College (now University). Worked in family practice for many years until we moved to southern NJ. Worked as an instructor for the Phila Fire Dept and Health Department in emergency medical services.
Worked for years in the VA system in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology. Retired from the VA in early 2014.
1977 joined the Army. Active duty, Reserves and National Guard until I retired as a Major 2003.
Finally got the nerve to start camping, actually "glamping" in a motorhome, 13 years ago. The time glamping was considered attitude adjustment away from work. Very difficult to camp after 25 years in the Army with the howitzers and tanks and all the noise.
Retired from the volunteer fire service as boro fire chief and company president 4 years ago.
Came out of retirement in the volunteer fire service to be driver operator and officer this past year (2020). Now in 2023 crappy back and knees and march of time I hung up my gear finally. Time for the youngsters to get the job done. Gotta admit I don't miss it after 53 years of it
