An Opening Statement:

Graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 1973, married in 1974. Have lived in Maryland, North Carolina, back to Maryland, Oklahoma, back to Maryland and then to Kentucky.

We"ve lived in Frankfort, Ky for 25 years now. I work on a computer helpdesk for the Commonwealth of Ky social workers. I also work at J C Penneys on a part-time basis. We have 2 grandchildren so far. We continue to visit Bethany Beach each year with the entire Weaver Clan (34+ years and counting--55+ people and still counting!!)

A Walt Whitman Story:

I remember Mr. Cockrell giving us notes to get out of class whenever we wanted to (or so it seemed!) I remember EFFE week well, working down at the Senate Office Building with Leila Srour, Barbara Tollis and a few others. I rode the elevator with Ted Kennedy--boy was he a big man!!

I also remember working in the attendance office junior year with Sam Mollelo and getting suspended for marking Sam absent when he was skipping!!

A big wish of mine was to make it to the top of the dome. I finally made it to the top with Bill Carlson about 2 weeks before graduation. I can remember ducking down behind the AC equipment on top when a police car cruised through the parking lot! We also went "spelunking" under the Art/Music building!

What was my BEST moment at Whitman:

Graduating!! And making it to the top of the dome shortly before graduation. I also loved all the concerts under the dome!

Wearing 2 different shoes and not even noticing it until 4th period!!

Is pretty good--a few twinges here and there, but generally good.

My Giving:

I have way more time than money to "give". I spent much time volunteering when my kids were in high school--Soccer Mom--4 years, Band Boosters--8 years, Football Boosters--4 years, banquet chair numerous times, Costume Chair for school plays--10 years, fundraising chair for many groups, Sewing Banners for the school library.

Visit the Grand Canyon and Australia!
Finish the quilt I started when my grandson was born 7 years ago, and also the one my great aunt started about 75 years ago.
