Class of '69

Hello All -

This is Debi's daughter, Shanna. I am writing to let you know that my mom passed away early this morning from ovarian cancer. She lived a wonderful life and is survived by her husband of 40 years, two kids, and two grandkids. There are no words to describe this kind of loss, but I am thankful she is no longer suffering.

Very sorry to hear this, and sorry for your loss.  I'm sorry I didnt know Debra well, but I recall she was sweet, and strikingly beautiful. I'm glad she had a happy life. Lisa Johnston (Howorth)

Shanna:

I don't need to tell you that your mother was a wonderful person. We were in several classes together (which was always a "hoot") and I even attend one of her "memorable" parties (at your grandparents' house). A party that was attended by half of the senior class. Great memories hosted by a wonderful person. We appreciate your letting us know of her passing. Take care.

Shanna.  I am very sorry for you and your family's loss.  I did not know Debra well, but I hope your fond memories of your mother help ease your sadness as you learn to hold her in your hearts and minds rather than your arms.  I wish you blessings of love and light.

I lived directly behind Debbie and we shared the bus everyday from Tulip Hill to Whitman.  She was a lively, smart young woman and I know her friends and family feel her loss dearly.  My sympathies to all.

I grew up with Debbie and was a member of the Tulip Hill Gang.  We shared many wonderful times together.  My husband and I drove to Ormond, FL, for Debi's memorial service, which was held on Sunday, July 17, 2022.  It was a beautiful service attended by many of her Florida friends.  Debi would have loved it.  We then went to her and Tom's house in Daytona for a celebration of life party.  As soon as I walked into their house, I felt like I was at her parents house in Tulip Hill.  I mentioned it to Tom, and he said that's how Debi planned it.  Debi's family had another memorial service for her in Chicago a couple of weeks ago.  Debi was loved by many and will be missed by many.  I love you Debi, Liz
